Guru Manu Master, born in 1955 in Koolimuttom, Kerala, has dedicated his entire life to one noble purpose—nurturing and preserving the core essence and beauty of Bharatanatyam for future generations of artists. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, he has remained steadfast and unwavering in his commitment to this path.
This performance brings to light the results of years of quiet, focused work. Through deep research at the grassroots level, Manu Master has collected adavus—traditional movement sequences that are rarely seen today. His senior disciples, Keerthana Anil and Pradeep Praveen, present these compositions on stage, accompanied by a live orchestra.
It’s not just a recital of form—it is a reflection of a life spent reclaiming space through dance. Every step holds a history, and every phrase carries the weight of both struggle and preservation.
