Experience a unique live performance featuring raag-based musical performances, bhajans, and folk songs led by Shehnai maestro Lokesh Anand.
Indian music has long carried stories of celebration, longing, faith, and farewell and this concert brings them all together through a vibrant, evolving soundscape. Featuring the Shehnai at its heart, the performance is led by Lokesh Anand, known for his rare ability to shape traditional forms with expressive depth and contemporary nuance.
'The Shehnai Saga' unfolds as a 13-piece musical journey—beginning in the meditative space of Raag Jog and gradually moving through folk, semi-classical, and devotional compositions. From the colours of Rangi Sari and the energy of Ghoomar to the tenderness of ’Eri Sakhi’ and the spiritual pull of ’Vaishnav Jan To’, each piece captures a distinct mood. The concert closes with an original farewell in Raag Charukeshi and an uplifting finale in Raag Durga.
Lokesh Anand, a disciple of both instrumental and vocal greats including Pandit Jasraj, brings a dynamic and emotionally rich voice to the Shehnai. He is joined by a versatile ensemble that includes Divyansh Srivastava (Santoor), Shrutisheel Uddhav (Tabla), Hemant Singh (Keyboard), Ganesh Murli Iyer (Mridangam), and Priyash Pathak (Percussion); together crafting a sound rooted in tradition, yet resonant in the present.
