Written by Niketa Saraf and Saurabh Nayyar, and directed by Saurabh Nayyar, Jubilee Theatre Foundation brings a satirical play where a swayamvar of lies reveals society’s hidden truths.
Under the glow of the full moon, a village gathers for a swayamvar unlike any other. Here, women seek their ‘sushil ladka’, but the choice rests not on charm or virtue, but on wit. The village elder Somavanti poses a riddle, and only the one who solves it may spin a tale. The only rule is that the story must be a lie.
What begins as a contest of clever falsehoods turns into sharp satire, each fable exposing truths that society prefers to hide. As riddles blur with reality and lies echo life, the play reflects on illusion, honesty, and the one force that outlasts them all – love.
Written and directed by Niketa Saraf and Saurabh Nayyar, and produced by Jubilee Theatre Foundation, the showcase features ace actors Sarika Singh, Tina Bhatiya, Ketaki Thatte, Niketa Saraf, Rigved Singh, and Nikhil Yadav.
