Blending original jazz with the rhythms of the world, the international quartet invites listeners into a rich, cross-cultural instrumental experience.
Formed in Amsterdam by four professional musicians united by their love for jazz, MOCA is an instrumental quartet that draws from diverse cultural roots and global influences. The international lineup features Cypriots Marios Menelaou on bass, Odysseas Toumazou on guitar, Christos Yerolatsitis on keys, and Hungarian drummer Áron Nyíró — artists who first connected through their studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam before continuing their collaborations in India’s vibrant music scene.
With finely honed skills across their instruments, MOCA crafts a sound that is both powerful and fluid, blending individual virtuosity into a cohesive, dynamic whole. Their music is original and collaborative, with each member contributing compositions shaped by their cultural backgrounds, blooming into performances that reflect personal expression, shared craft, and the warmth of global traditions. Influenced by jazz and world music, MOCA’s style resonates with audiences as both contemporary and deeply human.
Since their debut, the band has toured Cyprus, recorded original material, and performed at the Paradise Jazz Festival (2023). In 2024, they completed a three-week tour of India, playing to packed houses, leading workshops, and deepening their bond with a country where much of their musical identity has evolved. In 2025, they released their first LP Vol. 1—a culmination of years of collaboration, exploration, and shared growth.
Rooted in experience yet always exploring, MOCA continues to grow as a collective committed to discovering new sounds and sharing their love for music worldwide.
