In this Marathi dramatic reading, writer-director Sushama Deshpande envisions a unique encounter between a modern citizen and Mahatma Gandhi, portrayed as Mohanlal Karamchand Gandhi. Performed by Pradeep Welankar and Sushama Deshpande, the piece unfolds as a candid conversation addressing pressing issues like economic disparity, living standards, infrastructure, corruption, and bribery.
Presented through the questions of a commoner, the dialogue receives Gandhi’s thoughtful reflections, emphasising personal responsibility and the need for change to start at home. Warm, insightful, and deeply relevant, the performance casts Gandhian philosophy in the context of present-day India, offering a hopeful path to transformation grounded in everyday action.
