This Navaratri, embark on a colourful journey through Gujarat’s rich traditions, as music, dance, Garba, and vibrant visuals come together to celebrate the many forms of the goddess.
Rooted in devotion and cultural memory, the evening celebrates Shakti, the life force that creates, nurtures, and protects. In the spirit of Navaratri, the performance honours the goddess as a source of wisdom, strength, and good fortune through music, dance, and storytelling.
‘Adhyashakti Parikrama’ travels across Gujarat’s sacred Shaktipith at Mota Ambaji, beginning with an invocation to the Mother Goddess and continuing with tributes to Bhadrakali Ma of Ahmedabad. After Bhadrakali, the Garbo of Mahakali of Pavagadh is presented, followed by the Dakla of Chamunda Ma of Chotila performed by boys and girls. Bahuchar Ma of Bahuchraji comes next. The audience is then taken to Ashapura of Kutch, with a presentation of Manjira Ras set to a Kutchi Aradhi song of Shakti. Randal Ma, another form popular in Saurashtra, follows. Thereafter, Ma Amba’s many Garba traditions – Ghatarav, Garbhdip, Vinjhanlo, Nagaru, Chandarvo, Hindolo, and Fullmandvi – are performed in a nonstop medley composed by the late Shri Avinash Vyas.
Each folk dance is paired with visuals of the deity and her sacred landscape, creating an atmosphere of reverence and celebration. The evening concludes with a grand procession of Ma Durga, rising to a powerful finale in honour of the divine feminine.
This performance is supported by Reliance Foundation.
