This World Music Day, experience the electrifying power of Mahesh Raghvan’s performance as it transforms traditions – blending digital soundscapes with memory, movement, and an energy that moves through the crowd like a wave.
Bringing together ancient tradition and cutting-edge sound, this performance offers a fresh take on Carnatic music. Rooted in classical form, it expands through digital production, live visuals, and collaborative artistry. The evening is structured in three parts – from an acoustic set to featured guest collaborations, culminating in a high-energy showcase of unreleased tracks and fan favourites, enhanced by dancers and immersive staging.
At the heart of this genre-blending collective is Mahesh Raghvan, a digital composer and producer renowned for his use of GeoShred and global collaborations that reimagine Indian classical music for the modern stage. Joining him are Shravan Sridhar on electric violin, Sharanya Srinivas on vocals, and Akshay Anantapadmanabhan on mridangam and vocal percussion – each an acclaimed artist in their own right, deeply rooted in Carnatic tradition with a flair for experimentation.
Adding further depth to the performance are Adyar D. Balasubramani on nadaswaram and Sunil Kumar on thavil, whose presence brings the unmistakable energy of South India’s temple music into the mix. From reinterpreted pop culture themes to gripping originals, this is Carnatic music in motion – bold, boundary-pushing, and entirely of the moment.
