Rooted in the rich tradition of navaras—the nine core emotions of Indian art—this unique concert brings together classical ragas and cinematic compositions in a seamless musical journey. Guiding this experience is renowned vocalist and composer Vijay Prakash, whose voice and versatility have shaped some of India’s most memorable musical moments.
From his Grammy- and Oscar-winning contribution to ‘Jai Ho’ to acclaimed songs across Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, Vijay Prakash brings out the classical depth with contemporary appeal. In this performance, he draws on that wide repertoire to explore the emotional range of navaras, moving fluidly between meditative ragas and powerful film melodies. Each emotion, be it love, sorrow, joy, or wonder, is brought to life through melody and improvisation, creating a soundscape that feels both timeless and deeply personal. Accompanied by talented artists like Arun Kumar on rhythms, Umesh V on keyboard, and a poetic narration by Mahati, tradition meets storytelling in this musical conversation.
