Join popular vocal trainer Sharmila Velaskar Kadne for NMACC’s first-ever voice workshop – designed to build vocal clarity, strength, and lasting presence.
This voice workshop, led by Sharmila Velaskar Kadne, offers practical tools to help participants build a voice that is clear, expressive, and built to last. Designed for performers, speakers, educators, and anyone who works with their voice, the session focuses on technique, breath, and body connection.
Sharmila is a vocal trainer, performer, and theatre practitioner with extensive experience in voice work, performance presence, and actor training. Known for blending classical vocal techniques with physical and movement-based practices, her approach supports vocal clarity, strength, and emotional range.
Participants will work through articulation in both Devanagari and Roman scripts, pitch training using Hindustani and English drills, and resonance techniques based on Linklater’s Vowel Resonance Tree. The workshop also includes diaphragmatic breathing, facial and tongue warm-ups, vocal projection, and movement exercises like milling and seething to support grounding and release.
Balancing technique with body awareness, this session equips participants with the tools to use their voice more effectively—on stage, in classrooms, or in everyday communication.
