This brilliant stage adaptation of American author Ted Chiang’s fantasy novel ‘The Gate of Years’ transports the audiences to the ancient streets of Baghdad and Cairo, where time unfolds like a magical being.
The play follows Fuwaad Ibn Abbas through a journey woven with the lives a motley crew of characters – Hassan, Ajib, and Raniya. Guided by master storyteller Kenneth Desai, this performance immerses viewers in a rich tapestry of emotion, spanning joy, anguish, repentance, and solace, as the characters navigate their pasts and futures.
Produced by Jairaj Patil, ‘The Gate of Years’ captures universal themes of human resilience and connection through Desai’s dramatic interpretation. A seasoned actor with over 40 years in theatre and film, Desai is known for his award-winning role in ‘Kevi Rite Jaish’ (2012). He brings depth and nuance to each story, delivering a memorable and thought-provoking experience.
