Celebrated Kashmiri folk singer Shri Gulzar Ahmad Ganie brings the musical heritage of Jammu and Kashmir to life with a performance that takes audiences on an immersive journey through the region’s evocative compositions. With over 48 years of experience, Shri Ganie is renowned for his expertise in folk singing, music direction, and production across Kashmiri, Urdu, and Hindustani genres. His performances reflect a deep mastery of Sufiyana, light music, and folk, capturing the cultural essence of Kashmir.
A distinguished artist at Prasar Bharti Radio Kashmir since 2013, Shri Ganie has represented Kashmiri music on international stages in Turkmenistan, Africa, Morocco, Oman, and the USA. He has also collaborated with celebrated artists such as Ghulam Ali and Salim-Sulaiman. His contributions have been honoured with prestigious awards, including the Bharat Jyoti Award, the Ustad Mohammad Abdullah Tibat Baqal Award, and a State Award from the Jammu & Kashmir Government.
