In response to the moral and societal debates sparked by Vijay Tendulkar's play ‘Sakharam Binder’, P.L. Deshpande had famously crafted a satirical counter-response that critiqued the backlash against open-minded narratives. Through his humorous take, Deshpande turned the serious themes of Tendulkar’s original into a comedy that pokes fun at the absurdity of moral policing and societal hypocrisy.
Brilliantly adapted on stage by Mangesh Satpute, this production reimagines Sakharam and his companions through a talented cast featuring Sunil Jadhav, Vishal More, and Alka Parab. The performance combines sharp dialogue, silent comedy, and exaggerated characters to create a humorous, family-friendly atmosphere, while encouraging reflection on social issues.
