In a hilariously chaotic turn of events, an Indian wedding transforms into a courtroom drama after the bride publicly slaps her brother-in-law. Directed by talented trio Guneet, Param, and Prince, ‘Shaadi ke Mandap Mein’ cleverly uses this unexpected conflict to explore family dynamics, social expectations, and the rigid roles imposed on individuals in traditional settings. The play’s humour arises from the absurdity of turning a wedding—a symbol of harmony—into a site for justice and personal vendettas.
The narrative presents a crew of colourful characters written to critique gender roles and societal double standards through witty exchanges and sharp satire, often unbeknownst to themselves!
