Witness the Ramayana reimagined through Sita’s eyes, as an ensemble of dancers, martial artists, and theatre performers blend classical forms and Kalaripayattu to tell a story of power, agency, and resistance.
Revisiting one of India’s most enduring epics, this dance drama by Navaneetham Cultural Trust centres Sita not as a silent figure, but as a voice of strength, witness, and defiance. Rooted in tradition yet boldly reinterpreted, the production weaves Kathak, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, and Mohiniyattam with the martial art of Kalaripayattu to craft a narrative driven by female agency.
A stellar group of accomplished dancers, martial artists, and theatre practitioners, each trained in distinct classical and martial traditions, unite to bring this vision to life. Together, they create a layered, visually striking experience where movement and music honour India’s cultural richness while engaging with contemporary questions of identity and empowerment.
