Join guitarist Alec Goldfarb with a stellar ensemble for an unforgettable evening where Hindustani classical music and contemporary jazz meet, creating a captivating fusion of rhythm, melody, and improvisation.
Led by guitarist Alec Goldfarb, this performance unites the timeless resonance of Hindustani classical music with the expansive harmonic palette of contemporary jazz. In an evening of sonic dialogue, Goldfarb and his ensemble explore the intersection of raag and improvisation, blending Indian classical traditions with the boundless freedom of jazz. The quartet embarks on a journey through evolving conversations of alap and taal, with tabla, saxophone, bass, and guitar intricately weaving together layers of rhythm and melody.
Joining Goldfarb is a stellar lineup featuring saxophonist Lars Møller, celebrated for bridging Nordic jazz with Indian rhythms; tabla virtuoso Zuheb Ahmed Khan, a rising star of the Ajrada Gharana; and bassist Shashank Das, whose electrifying sound is shaping India’s jazz scene. Together, they reimagine Indian fusion for the 21st century, rooted in tradition, spontaneous in execution, and transcendent in its musical expression.
A celebration of cross-cultural sound, this performance offers a masterclass in improvisation, showcasing artists at the pinnacle of their craft, and inviting the audience into a profound musical exploration.
