With a unique blend of ballet, contemporary dance, Indian Classical dance, and modern theatre, this spectacular medley of global dance forms shapeshifts from one vibrant visual to another, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.
Key dance pieces include ‘Les Sylphide’ a romantic ballet choreographed by Michel Fokine and set to the enchanting music of iconic composer Frédéric Chopin, along with ‘Waltz’, ‘Sabor A España’, ‘Gaia’, and others. Be captivated by the exuberant charm of character dances like ‘tarantella’, which is rooted in Italian tradition, and ‘Slavic Medley’, inspired by the rich dance traditions of Europe. Stir into this celebration of movement and culture some choreographies of Kathak and modern theatre, and you’ve got a sensory experience like no other!
The ‘School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance’ was founded in 1966 by Tushna Dallas. Since then, it has promoted the growth of Western Classical ballet in India. It has also been a pioneer in popularising dance forms like modern theatre, jazz and Latin American. The school, currently flourishing under the leadership of ace danseuse Khushcheher Dallas, is known for nurturing technical proficiency while ensuring that the soul of free movement is at the centre of every performance.
