The brilliantly metaphysical musical-play explores the artistic urge to say something meaningful, traced through the songs and poetry of great Hindustani poets.
Embark on a fascinating exploration of great Hindustani poets and their works with this unique musical play directed by the talented Avneesh Mishra.
Evoking poetic legends, the play goes on to trace the lives of people in the world of musical theatre. Through beautiful music and powerful acting, it leads the audience into the curious world of dreams, passion and adrenaline inhabited by directors, actors, and musicians through the course of one production. Shining with metaphysical wit, it depicts the hustle of a director and his team, determined to bring the best of music and poetry to their audience – much like the cast and crew of the play unfolding in real-time. In that sense, ‘Unhein Kuch Khena Hai’ truly captures the artistic desire to say something meaningful – and with some luck, be heard.
Besides the director, it takes an exceptional milieu of artists to bring alive the thought-provoking premise of the play. Co-writers Avneesh Mishra and Ather Jaffery, along with the rest of the troupe – Suneel Sinha, Santosh Tiwari, Saurabh Nayyar, Shashi Chaturvedi, Ghanshyam Lalsa, Geet Sagar, Ananya Purkayashta, and Amey Ghule – speak some compelling truth about art and life. Manish J Tipu’s stirring music renders the philosophical explorations poetic.
