A rich tapestry of music and dance unfolds in this tribute, crafted by Pt. Shankar’s sons and disciples. The evening opens with a captivating vocal performance of Shiv Tandav and Rudra Ashtakam by Uma Shankar Kathak, setting a tone of devotion and serenity.
The performance transitions into the resonant rhythms of the pakhawaj, led by Jayesh Kathak and students of Pt. Shankar, before evolving into a unique fusion of bandish, incorporating the melodic strains of the shehnai and keyboard. Adding another layer of artistry, Naresh Kathak’s mesmerising Kathak performance elevates the experience to new heights.
