Radha and Meera — two iconic figures united by their love and admiration for Krishna, yet separated by time and perspective. One, Krishna's contemporary; the other, a poetess who knew him only through her imagination. This enchanting concert brings their stories to life, exploring the shared threads and unique elements of their commitment through music.
The performance comes alive with the exceptional artistry of Deepika Bhagwat on vocals, whose mastery of semi-classical forms such as Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, and Meera Bhajans captivates audiences with her crystal-clear voice and command of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. Deepika is joined by an ensemble of talented musicians — Yati Bhagwat on tabla, Omkar Agnihotri on harmonium, Suryakant Surve on side rhythm, Kaushiki Joglekar on keyboard, and Amit Kakde as compère. Together, they create a seamless blend of melody and rhythm, weaving a tapestry of classical and semi-classical compositions that celebrate the beautiful connection between music, devotion, and the divine.
