Be swept away by an evocative Bharatanatyam showcase that captures the spirit of summer — its fiery challenges, timeless wisdom, and an untamed thirst for perseverance and growth.
Summer is a time of resilience, where the human spirit endures and thrives despite harsh and unyielding conditions. It symbolises toil, self-preservation, and a relentless thirst — both physical and metaphorical — to move closer to one’s goals. Through the art of Bharatanatyam, the performance explores the emotional tapestry of summer, evoking themes of hardship, conservation, wild fearlessness, and wisdom.
Performed by Dr. Apoorva Jayaraman, an acclaimed Bharatanatyam artiste and recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (2023–24), the evening seamlessly weaves together tradition and contemporary perspectives. A scholar and performer, Dr. Jayaraman is deeply committed to both the practice and academic study of classical arts. Her initiatives, including ‘Navadhisha - New Voices in Dance’ and the ‘RootEd Foundation’, reflect her dedication to fostering a deeper understanding of the arts and inspiring innovation.
This season, join us for an exceptional celebration of dance and resilience!
