Gearing up for its 2000th performance, this original Marathi music and poetry mehfil is an emotional journey that has touched hearts over 21 unforgettable years and across generations.
Created by the inimitable Sandeep Khare and Dr. Saleel Kulkarni, ‘Ayushyavar Bolu Kahi’ is beloved for having brought the magic of Marathi poetry and music to audiences everywhere—from the smallest villages in Maharashtra to 18 countries across the world.
As a poet, performing artist, actor, lyricist and author known for his work in Marathi cinema, Sandeep brings to the stage a sweeping energy that is easily matched to by singer, composer and author Saleel. The duo’s stellar performances are amplified by the incredible stage prowess of the remaining the cast including Aarya Ambekar, Shubhankar Kulkarni, and a talented group of musicians led by Aditya Athalye. The result is a production that can sweep anyone off their feet – from long-time fans to first-time audiences, from seasoned minds to young ones! It's not just the audience that has grown over the years – Shubhankar Kulkarni, who once sang as a child on stage, is now the male singer, an example of the show’s extraordinary journey through time.
