What happens when the timeless elegance of ghazal meets the deep resonance of the guitar? Two distinct musical traditions – one rooted in poetic heritage, the other in modern melody – merge seamlessly in a performance that reimagines the beauty of ghazals. 

‘The Guitar & Ghazal Project’ is a unique musical collaboration that bridges eras and styles, presenting ghazals traditionally accompanied by instruments like the harmonium, tabla, and sarangi alongside the expressive strums of the guitar. This synergy of lyrical depth and instrumental fluidity creates a soundscape that can make you dream, fall in love, or shed a tear – all in the span of a single evening. 

As part of the grand celebration of ‘Ehsaas’, this special showcase features a stellar group of musicians. Chandreyee Bhattacharya, trained under ghazal maestro Padmashree Hariharan, lends her soulful voice to the performance. Joining her are celebrated guitarists Sanjoy Das (Bapi) and Nilanjan Samadder (Neil), whose influences span Bollywood, jazz, blues, and Indian classical music. Drummer, guitarist, and singer Ambar Das, known for his dynamic contributions to both indie and commercial music, completes the ensemble.  

Together, they craft an immersive experience that transforms the ghazal tradition into something both nostalgic and modern – a sacred union of poetry and melody in a symphony of emotions. The show will be compered by RJ Lavanya, guiding the audience through this unforgettable musical journey.
