The Centre opens the stage to stand-up comedy with Anubhav Pal’s hilarious take on historical tragedies.
In ‘The Empire’, ace comedian Anubhav Pal explores the persistent influences of British reign in modern India. He humorously examines the lingering impact of British values and decorum, despite the nation’s shift towards social media and American consumerism. This stand-up special delves into the quest for empire and the enduring echoes of colonialism, demonstrating how historical tragedies can spark comedy.
Pal wears many hats — he is an Indian artist celebrated for his comedy, screenwriting, playwriting, and novels. Best known for the 2007 film ‘Loins Of Punjab Presents’ and his Amazon Prime special ‘Alive At 40’, his impressive body of work also includes ‘Chaos Theory’, ‘The President Is Coming’, and ‘1 888 Dial India’. He has captivated audiences internationally with performances at Harvard Business School and London’s Soho Theatre, among others.
Join us for an evening filled with fun and laughter as history meets comedy!
