The performance opens with ‘Family Tide’, a sharp-witted satire by Khambatta Dance Company (KDC). Set around an ever-present table – a space that shifts between confinement, division, and celebration – the piece examines the dynamics of family life with humour and theatrical flair. Whether symbolising a dinner gathering, a meeting place, or a circus-like spectacle, the table becomes a stage for characters to unravel, collide, and transform. 

The second act presents a restaging of ‘Jan Jaati’, a moving piece that uses expressive choreography and evocative movement to delve into the struggles and triumphs of individuals navigating tribal identities in a rapidly changing world. Blending traditional and contemporary dance forms, ‘Jan Jaati’ offers a thought-provoking reflection on one of the world’s oldest surviving tribes and their extraordinary journey in the modern era.
