Dive into an electrifying evening of contemporary music that blends the rich melodies of Indian classical with the vibrant rhythms of ambient rock, jazz, and electronic elements.
‘Advaita Live’ brings a kaleidoscope of musical influences, embodying the vibrant essence of contemporary Indian artistry. The band is celebrated for its originality and progressive spirit by audiences and critics alike, uniting a stellar ensemble of talent — Ujwal Nagar on Hindustani vocals, Chayan Adhikari on Western vocals and acoustic guitar, Anindo Bose on keyboards, Abhishek Mathur on electric guitar, Gaurav Chintamani on bass, Aman Singh on drums, and Rohit Prasanna on flute.
With two decades of experience, two successful albums, and over 500 concerts, Advaita has captured hearts and garnered accolades both in India and abroad. With their debut album, ‘Grounded in Space’, the band earned its well-deserved place in British producer John Leckie’s British Council Soundpad Project. Advaita’s second album, The Silent Sea, was recognised as ‘Best Rock Album’ at the Global Indian Music Awards and ‘Best Album’ at the Rolling Stone Jack Daniel Rock Awards.
Their magic has reached audiences through MTV’s Coke Studio and Unplugged, as well as popular television shows like The Dewarists and Sound Trek. Their 2014 concert, Unison, quickly turned into successful YouTube singles that continue to resonate with many. The band has also collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan for a track in the film ‘Wazir’, and performed for the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Most recently, they made waves with their hit song ‘Palkan’, featured in the Soundchk series curated by renowned composer-producer Salim Merchant.
As Advaita gets ready to set the stage ablaze at NMACC, prepare to be swept away by the spell of contemporary music!
