Recipient of the prestigious Guido Agosti honour, pianist Sergio De Simone brings compelling presentations of classical masterpieces and contemporary gems.
Renowned across concert halls from Europe to the Americas, Sergio De Simone has carved out a distinct presence as both a soloist and a chamber musician. With a repertoire spanning Mozart to Shostakovich, along with a continued commitment to contemporary music, his performances are admired for both technical finesse and interpretive depth.
Trained at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, De Simone’s artistic journey has been shaped by influential figures such as Franco Rossi and Joaquin Achucarro. He has collaborated with major orchestras, including the Romanian State Orchestra, Sarajevo Philharmonic, and Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, performing under esteemed conductors such as Jonathan Webb, Anton Nanut, and Alessandro Pinzauti. His chamber music collaborations are equally distinguished, featuring artists like Boris Berman, Amalia Hall, and Maxance Larrieux.
His long-standing association with the Chigiana Academy in Siena, where he serves as pianist-in-residence, reflects his dual role as both performer and mentor, particularly in projects led by Azio Corghi and Oscar-winning composer Luis Bacalov. As an educator, De Simone has held leadership roles, including Head of Keyboard at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, and he currently teaches at the Mascagni Conservatoire in Livorno. He also holds guest professorships in Graz. His international masterclasses – held in locations ranging from Singapore to the United States – spotlight his enduring passion for shaping the next generation of pianists.
De Simone's performances promise a rare blend of passion, precision, and artistry – an experience not to be missed!
