Born into the semi-nomadic Mirasi community in Rajasthan’s Thar Desert, Mukhtiyar Ali represents the 26th generation of Sufi musicians dedicated to preserving this sacred art form. Trained under his father from an early age, his remarkable talent emerged in childhood and has since flourished on both national and international stages. Beyond his solo performances, he has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Mathias Duplessy, Shabnam Virmani, and Paul Jacob, lending his powerful voice to film soundtracks such as Ship of Theseus, Finding Fanny, and Bombay Summer.
