Treat yourself to a Kathak recital that celebrates both timeless tradition and the evolving essence of dance, honouring rhythm, storytelling, and legacy.
With its intricate footwork, fluid storytelling, and timeless elegance, Kathak has been passed down through generations, constantly evolving while staying deeply rooted in its origins. ‘Nritya Pravaah’ is a tribute to this journey – an exploration of movement, rhythm, and devotion, shaped by the legacy of those who came before.
‘Nritya Pravaah', meaning ‘The Flow of Dance’, celebrates the uninterrupted evolution of the dance form. Seamlessly blending rhythm, expression, and storytelling, the recital honours the Gurus who have preserved its essence while also embracing change and innovation. Paying homage to tradition, it opens a space for new interpretations, offering an immersive experience that illustrates how Kathak continues to transform with time.
At the heart of the performance is Nikita Banawalikar, an internationally acclaimed Kathak artist known for her nuanced artistry and commanding stage presence. Trained under Padma Bhushan Kumudini Lakhia and Guru Shama Bhate, she has graced prestigious festivals across India and beyond. Her work has earned her accolades such as the Menaka Award, Gopi Krishna Award, and the Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Award.
‘Nritya Pravaah’ reflects Kathak’s enduring spirit – celebrating its legacy and demonstrating its ability to evolve while preserving its timeless beauty. Don’t miss out!
