This Navaratri, explore the mystical origins of the number 9 through a thematic Carnatic Classical concert, where ace vocalist Vidya Krishna traces its powerful omnipresence.
Look around, and chances are that you’ll find yourself in the presence of the number 9! Be it in the physical or the metaphysical realm, the cosmic presence of the number is the theme for acclaimed Carnatic Classical singer Vidya Harikrishna’s unique concert, staged in celebration of Navaratri.
From ‘navarasa’ or the nine emotions of the human mind to navdurga’s divine avatars, or the nine planets of the navagraha system – there is a unique melodic interpretation of each cultural significance associated with this auspicious number. Known for her expressive and distinguished vocals, Harikrishna will be accompanied by an incredible ensemble of musicians including Vijay Natesan (mridangam), Shivakumar Anantharaman (violin), Mahesh Swamy (flute), and Ganesh (kanjira) – resulting in an audio-intellectually stimulating evening of musical inferences.
