Witness an evening of bold jazz explorations and vibrant Latin rhythms, where tradition meets innovation in an electrifying celebration.
A night of jazz brilliance unfolds with a specially curated double-bill performance in celebration of International Jazz Day on 30th April. Showcasing the rich diversity of contemporary and traditional jazz, the evening features two distinct acts—each offering a unique interpretation of the genre, from bold reinventions of jazz standards to the fiery rhythms of Latin America.
Opening the night, Delhi’s pioneering jazz guitar trio, S.A.S, delivers a dynamic performance that seamlessly bridges tradition and innovation. Known for their fearless approach to jazz standards, Siddharth Gautam (guitar), Aditya Dutta (drums), and Sonic Shori (bass) craft immersive soundscapes that span from swinging rhythms to modern grooves. For this special performance, they are joined by vocalist Swikrity Singh, whose expressive artistry adds a new dimension to their adventurous interpretations. Together, they breathe fresh life into classics and hidden gems alike, transforming them with their signature synergy and inventive spirit.
The second half of the evening shifts to the pulsating heartbeat of Latin jazz and salsa with Paddy y Los Gatos, India’s premier ensemble in the genre. Led by Pradyumna Singh Manot (Paddy), a torchbearer of Latin jazz in India, the group delivers an electrifying set infused with Cuban rhythms and Afro-Caribbean energy. Featuring a powerhouse lineup of musicians including vocalists Ahona, Arcana, and Vidisha, bassist Aditya, and percussionists Supratim and Surajit, the ensemble brings an authentic and exhilarating experience to the stage.
From reimagined classics to high-energy salsa, this International Jazz Day celebration is a testament to jazz’s ever-evolving spirit—an evening where spontaneity, sophistication, and rhythm take center stage.
